Forests have been part of Don Curtis' life as long as he can remember. As a boy exploring the forests and mountains in east Tennessee where he grew up, he spent time camping and knocking around the woods. After high school he took a "walk-about" and visited some of the forests in the Northwest.  When he returned home, he decided to make forestry his career.  He attended the Warnell School of Forestry at the University of Georgia and got a BS degree in Forest Resources.  He knew he'd found his life's calling.

 

Since graduation from college in 1979, he's worked in public and private sector forestry.  At age 40 he started The Forestry Company and has grown the business to provide the full range of forestry services to landowners across the southeast USA.
